I’ve spent many late nights switching back and forth trying to correlate a packet in Wireshark with an event log entry while referring to a log file. It’s not uncommon to have your precious screen real estate taken up by window after window of troubleshooting tools. Then there are massive numbers of logs with which we have to contend.
Wireshark, Process Monitor and TCPView are just a few tools that come to mind. Real troubleshooters know there comes a time when you really need to dig in to the details of what is really going on with a system.
